/// Albert’s wife and Emilie Von Etter,
are in Cannes and they’re reading his letter.
Albert wrote: “You’ve been cold.
If I may be so bold,
I have fears you love Emilie better.”
/// He asks why she is staying in Cannes,
and not home with their boy and her man.
True, she misses her son,
but in Cannes she has fun
with her friend. (Albert’s not in their plan.)
/// Man and wife now, they’d been childhood friends.
Youthful fondness, though, usually ends.
Plus, he’d been penniless
while she’s called Baroness.
For their marriage, no good this portends.
/// On that balcony in the sun’s rays,
Ellan pictured the cold Finnish days
and the dark, icy seas
with no off-the-Med breeze,
nor the warmth of her friend’s loving gaze.
/// Still, she had to respond to his letter.
Ellan wanted to stay, but knew better.
She’d return to their house
and to Albert, her spouse,
(although Emilie’s touch made her wetter).
/// If both you and your girl plan to share a
balcony on the French Riviera,
Cannes and Nice are each nice,
but for beach, don’t think twice.
You’ll find more on the sandy Sahara.
