/// Two young women came down to the stream,
and one waves to a guy named Joaquim.
Each girl’s job is to lug
a large water-filled jug,
but that horseman inspires a scheme.
/// He lives on the opposite shore
and she’s seen him a few times before.
On his horse’s strong back
they could easily pack
many jugs and not ache anymore.
/// Her friend says, “He is not such a jerk
that for nothing he’ll do all our work.
We are poor water carriers,
and we’re hampered by barriers.
Cross that bridge and then give him a perk.”
/// “I ought not,” she replied, “You forget
that hot shepherd we recently met.
He would not give me leeway,
(he still asks for that three-way),
but between ewe and me, he’s all wet!”
/// Riding to the next town was his task.
Lost his way (there was booze in his flask).
The girl called out to say
that he’d come the wrong way.
For directions he never would ask.
