/// When the window pane’s covered in mist
here in Jutland, the girl can’t resist
writing out a boy’s name.
But… does he feel the same?
(Rubs it out with the edge of her fist.)
/// Walking home through the woods, she could see
that their love truly was meant to be.
She’d looked up and beheld
her own name, (though misspelled),
carved with his in the bark of a tree.
/// She walked on and she knew she was smitten
seeing both names in yellow snow, written.

/// In a year, “puppy-love” was full-grown,
and the girl knew she’d not be alone
for the rest of her life.
As his newlywed wife
she would take the boy’s name as her own.
/// True love was an attainable dream,
but it wasn’t all peaches and cream.
They had happy and sad
days, some good and some bad,
but ‘twas only with pleasure they’d scream.
