He’s shown standing astride
pointed peaks, legs spread wide.
Fate, we fear, will turn bull into ox.

or it could describe outcomes less nice,
in which something’s presumed
to a dark downfall doomed.
Does this boy stand to pay a great price?

/// Were there no sharp stone pinnacles shown,
we’re creeped out by that weird boy alone.
The odd way that he stands,
and his fat, stubby hands,
and his clothes in a style that’s unknown.

/// Yet, his face is the strangest of all.
(He’s called “boy” just because he’s so small.)
His too neatly combed hair
and odd middle-aged air,
and his stare are enough to appall.
