/// “Dreams and Fantasies no. 1” (Dreams
about Skittle.) It’s more than it seems.
A bizarre Bowling Alley
where both babes and beasts dally.
Do big balls suggest sensuous themes?
/// Here three tall, raven-haired (Asían?) girls,
wearing tight gowns with straps made of pearls,
all look down on a chimp
who smirks back, evil ímp,
while beyond a fourth girl her ball hurls.
/// These chimps bowl, but their team seldom wins,
for their sphere, as it rolls, hardly spins.
They were able to learn
to get balls to return
and to reset the fallen-down pins.
/// The girl wearing gold, bowling, is blonde.
Does she share in the brunette girls’ bond?
Many Swedes are quite fair,
and cute girls with blonde hair
are the ones of which dream-apes are fond.
/// All the women wear gold high-heeled shoes.
(Not the footwear for bowling I’d choose.)
On a platform, raised up,
curls a cute lap-dog pup
who stares back at us, ready to snooze.
/// And so, what does this fantasy mean?
A surreal and mysterious scene.
Did Nils doze from fatigue
at his town’s bowling league
after reading de Sade’s book, “Justine”?
