/// Women Painters are gathered to see
work-in-progress by one of the three.
She holds painter’s tools tight
in her left hand; her right
arm drapes lightly across her friend’s knee.

/// We can see how intently they stare,
and the brightly hued smocks which they wear.
Clad in pink, blue and red,
they don’t primp, but instead
pin in buns their attractive long hair.

/// Their professor, Carl, painted this study.
Did he groom one as after-school “buddy”?
And what does he imply
by “pink’s” hand near “blue’s” thigh?
Turn him down and your good name he’ll muddy.

/// What does girl in red’s head angle mean?
Sitting high, toward the window she’ll lean.
Yet her eye focus stayed
on the art her friend made.
Red sits there not to see, but be seen!

/// She’s aware that her smock color pops;
to draw glances she pulls out the stops.
She has angled her form
toward the male student’s dorm.
“Check me out,” is the hint that she drops.
