and she’s Holding a Bird, we can see.
It’s a dove, mostly blue,
and straight to her it flew.
(She just ate, so she’s setting it free.)

/// She seems serious, sober, and solemn
as she stands by that fluted white column.
But she worries, indeed,
she’s declined— gone to seed.
Birds are drawn to her, though she won’t call ‘em.

(and this maiden is wearing a nightie).
She deserves love— a smidgeon,
and her blue-tinted pigeon
shows she’s two things: Depressive and flighty.
