/// The blonde Nude in a Landscape will stun
any men who might see her, but run
as though shocked to be viewed.
Yet she chose to be nude,
(and some landscaping clearly was done).
/// Her left hand is held up, as in fear.
Her expression implies someone’s near.
A white cloth on both arms
doesn’t mask the girl’s charms
from the front, but it covers her rear.
/// Dark red lipstick she chooses to wear,
and the style of her long wavy hair,
plus her eyebrows plucked thin
and her un-suntanned skin,
prove she, in nineteen–forty, ran bare.
/// What explains this unusual pose—
in full make-up, but wearing no clothes?
Her stance indicates fright
of pursuers who might
smear her lipstick unless off she goes.
/// For some girls, no hair there is genetic,
or it may be her culture’s æsthetic.
And for others the cause
is removal of flaws.
In verse, this blonde is waxing poetic.
