/// Quilting Party, (what’s known as a Bee),
where a quilt is constructed, you see.
Females, four generations,
pass on specifications
for a craft that sets folk artists free.
/// This commemorates times in our land
when such treasures were crafted by hand.
Now they’re made by machine,
standard, perfect and clean,
but they’re soulless and perfectly bland.
/// When great-grandma taught all that she knows,
daughters’ daughters got quilts for trousseaux.
Thus, these skills spread and grew;
old techniques born anew.
Each one there adds a piece that she sews.
