/// Christmas Pudding! It’s sweet, much like candy.
As it’s served, Timmy held up his hand. He
saw pale bluish flames hop
round the holly on top.
“Put it out… you’ll burn off all the brandy!!“
/// Mother served this treat one time a year.
They’d all shout, “Yay! Plum pudding is here!”
Made with dried fruits and spiceș,
but what really entices
is the alcohol. That’s why they’d cheer.
/// Mother’s pudding was gooey to chew it.
And each year all her kin would review it.
Flour, spice, sugar and fruit,
(topped with holly, to boot),
with her “secret” ingredient: suet.
/// For the Brits, Christmas Pudding is merry.
Soaked in very strong rum, wine or sherry.
Boiled or steamed, they assert,
“pudding” just means dessert.
Will dessert get them tipsy? Yes, very.
