When this painting was later used, with a different caption, at GoComics, and without an accompanying blog entry, it listed the artist as Franz Ludwig Catel, as a Google image search finds, and my GoComics comment substantiates.
The 1824 date is accurate; but, Manuel Castellano was born in 1826.
