/// Freud’s maid picked up the litter he’d strewn
‘neath the table, and whistled a tune.
And, despite what it said
in the paper he read,
six days early he sees a full moon.

/// A sly smile played around Sigmund’s lips
as he gazed at the kneeling girl’s hips.
Was she stooping to conquer,
(in the hope he would “bonk” her)?
Both were looking for Freudian slips.

/// True, a housemaid is only a maid,
(though her pose here is very well played).
Perhaps Freud is afraid
that this comic charade
is a trap that’s symbolically laid.

/// Like cigars, maids can have other uses.
Sigmund’s run out of likely excuses
for his habit to stare
at the maid’s derrière.
(He’s a butt-man who’s hot for cabooses.)

/// One weird reason Herr Freud became famed
is that complex (for Oedipus named),
‘Twas for toddlers conceived.
Now, it’s not much believed.
If you love your Mom, don’t be ashamed.

/// Still, if your first love (and all the others),
have a look that resembles your mother’s,
and you envy your Dad
for the wife that he had,
just be glad that you don’t get your “druthers.”
