/// Kurzweil walked ‘round the sphinx on a whim.
He had never been prudish nor prim.
Though his angle of view
changed with each step or two,
both still pointed directly at him!

/// He continued his tour of guard duty,
a bit awed by her strange mythic beauty.
Those round stone protrusions
caused optic illusions.
(Now he wished that her pose had shown tutti.)

/// His extremely tight uniform pants
and absurdly long rifle and lance
may be symbols that Max,
to this statue, reacts
with a physical need for romance.

/// Rifle with its attached bayonet
is as long as such weapons can get.
We can easily see
it grew taller than he.
(Due to that statuesque statuette?)

/// She does have pretty eyes, but he’s just
mesmerized by her oversized bust.
Eyes can play a big role—
(“windows into the soul”).
Lower down are her “gateways to lust.”

/// He reacts like most Austrian menschen
to a sphinx with pectoral distention.
Every soldier on guard
knows at times it is hard
not to stand (with some parts) at attention.
