/// In his Portrait, Napoléon-Louis
Bonaparte stands before a wild sea.
The composed little Prince
doesn’t grimace or wince,
(though today most assume he’s a she).
/// Posing brave in the midst of a storm,
he appears to be calm, dry and warm.
Anchored well by the fame
of his family name,
he can weather the worst, true to form.
/// Pictured here when he was about six,
he appears to be in quite a fix.
We observe him ignore
churning waves at the shore.
Brave? Or drawn to great peril for kicks?
/// As behind him the crashing waves swarm
and the darkening thunderclouds form,
he stands placidly still—
like an anchor which will
neatly illustrate calm before storm.
/// Even at this young age, Max told tales
backed by props and supporting details.
Here he gives friends a look
at the humongous hook
which he uses (he claims) to catch whales.
