/// Sly Ben Franklin, flirtatious and bright,
with French women spent many a night.
Were he not so well-known,
from appearance alone,
they’d have told him to go fly a kite.

/// The American with the most fame,
Europeans knew Franklin by name.
He charmed ladies with wit.
Was he bawdy? A bit.
A freethinker who rarely felt shame.

/// Fellow Founder, John Adams, was rude
and in matters of sex quite a prude.
They were both diplomats
who had quarrelsome spats
over Ben’s “friends” (whom Adams called “crude.”)

/// Franklin’s portrait was painted with skill.
This pose copied, and reproduced still.
It could be that your savings
have this face in engravings
on some C-notes, (a hundred buck bill).
