/// The ballroom of the Hotel de Ville
had some oddly-shaped spaces to fill.
Weerts depicted a girl
and a spinning wheel’s whirl.
Like the gold leaf, this painting’s a frill.

/// Allegorical scenes, (I assume),
were produced as decor for the room.
Weerts’ “The Tapestry” shows
us yet one more of those,
although, shouldn’t she be at a loom?
