Oil on canvas
/// As the Lady drains each glass of wine,
the dark Gentleman likes this just fine.
When she puts it down, then
he’ll just fill it again,
thinking, “Just one more; soon she’ll be mine.”
/// The excuse for this man being there
is the instrument propped on a chair.
He’s to teach her to play,
and he will, (in a way),
when his fingering skills he will share.
/// He prefers not removing his hat.
Knows he looks more dramatic like that.
When she’s drunk enough wine
he’ll suggest they not dine,
but instead head upstairs for “a chat.”
/// He has gotten girls tipsy before,
which determined the garment he wore.
His cloak, bile green and thick,
shields his silks if she’s sick,
and makes cleaning up less of a chore.
