Its Swiss Institute for Art Research (SIK) http://www.sikart.ch/Werke.aspx?id=10878272&lng=en page lists the date as 1939. Neither 9 is completely closed at the top in the artist's dated signature at the lower left of the painting and when Christies auctioned it, its http://www.christies.com/lotfinder/lot/adolf-dietrich-kinder-beim-schlitteln-1934-3883552-details.aspx auction page, listed the date as 1934, as currently here. So, from appearance alone, it is hard to determine. My guess that the date listed by SIK is based on more than appearance.
