These are 2 of 24 (or more) preliminary paintings Seurat did for the http://www.artic.edu/aic/collections/artwork/27992 painting (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Sunday_Afternoon_on_the_Island_of_La_Grande_Jatte). But, http://www.artic.edu/aic/collections/artwork/61616 says, the one on the left is an oil on panel painting.
