         Happy New Year 2016
(click the above text for your card)
/// Mars awakens, unsure what to do.
He’s in bed with a woman, but who?
He admires the view.
Is she someone he knew?
It would help if she had a tattoo.
/// She is Venus, the Goddess of Love.
In his helmet is nesting her dove,
(Allegory of Peace).
Venus gave him release
from the anger and War he’s God of.
/// Mars drew curtains back. Daylight revealed
he’d not needed his helm, sword or shield.
They’d been left on the floor,
for the great God of War
had a bod which got Venus to yield.
/// His critique of her body he’d jabbered,
yet his mouth uncontrollably slabbered,
because Mars is a sword.
Though her bust leaves him bored
he sees Venus as more of a scabbard.
/// There’s a moral here: Males Like to Brawl.
They will fight over things large and small.
But their violence just
might be quenched by their lust.
It is often true: Love Conquers All.
/// So, does this mean there’s hope for this year?
Is an end to mankind’s warfare near?
Sadly, fighting won’t cease.
There’s no permanent peace.
Men love love, but love death, more, I fear.
/// A quick exit had been his intention,
but her beauty’s beyond comprehension.
Muscle memory lingers
of Dawn’s rosy fingers,
so he’s now up and stands at attention.
