/// A.E. Nordenskiöld, arctic explorer,
and the Vega (he’s posed here before her).
His surroundings are frozen,
and yet Adolf has chosen
to stand out here while sober… the horror!
/// He holds, gripped in his furry black glove,
not the bottle of spirits he’d love.
It’s a spyglass for viewing
if foul weather is brewing,
and to set course by stars up above.
/// He is vague about just where they are.
Cloudy skies at night block every star.
Their way is uncharted.
That’s why he’s downhearted.
Vega’s route is the vaguest by far.
/// All alone he stands far from his ship
on some jagged ice where he might slip
off a sheet like wet glass,
falling in a crevasse,
or in seawater take a last dip.
/// Onboard Vega the scientist sailed
icy waters where others had failed.
Northeast Passage they found
without running aground,
though at times, when the ship leaked, they bailed.
/// This sick “creeper” who slyly resorts
to a spyglass when Kal-el cavorts
on the ice, (hardly warm),
out of his uniform,
sees the need for those red outside shorts.
/// There are reasons Kal’s called SUPERman.
His physique’s why this creep is a fan.
Viewed sans any fig leafs,
he needs two pairs of briefs
to get extra support where he can.
