/// Alice Liddell climbs up to the case
on the wall which hides her secret place.
Only Sheltie Dog knows
this is where she keeps those
“special” photos which might cause disgrace.

/// Her good friend, Mr. Dodgson, admired
how she looked when less fully attired.
He took pictures which she
took care no one would see.
She’s unsure of just what he desired.

/// Mr. Dodgson invents bizarre tales
about Alice, with which he regales
all the Liddell’s at lunch,
but the child has a hunch
that she won’t get a cut of the sales.

/// In one odd dreamlike tale he would share,
there’s a cake labeled “Eat Me” right there.
With one bite, Alice grows
nine feet from head to toes.
(In real life, she just stands on a chair.)

/// Some new evidence, published online,
implies Dodgson’s acts weren’t malign.
Alice gave him the chance
to engage in romance
with the governess. (His age, thus fine.)
