/// Two young women who bathe on the rocks
had no bathing suits under their smocks.
And their bathing is done,
not in sea, but in sun.
They will wish they had each used sun blocks.

/// To perch naked on sharp rocks takes guts.
They are risking abrasions and cuts.
So the smocks that they wore
when they came to the shore
they placed, folded up, under their butts.

/// Out in public, some voyeur may catch you
while you’re sunbathing and stare right at you.
The girls aren’t dismayed
‘cause “The Little Mermaid,”
here in Denmark’s a well-known nude statue.

/// It is set on a rock in a pose
that is much like what each girl here shows.
So, for Danes, no big deal
if you’re seen when you peel.
They’re not shy about shedding their clothes.

/// It’s no sin to be showing some skin,
like that statue and her mermaid kin.
The girls sometimes explain—
that tale’s author’s a Dane.
Not, as some wrongly fancy, a Finn.

/// Any Finn who has beautiful skin,
but waist down has a tail with a fin,
is a mythical creature
with one famed fishy feature.
Pescatarians call it “win-win.”

/// “Just last weekend I came to this shore.
You remarked on the swimsuit I wore.
If you’d look in my eyes,
then you might realize
that you fed me that same line before.”

/// Girls who sunbathe while nude may be bolder,
and with passion they possibly smolder.
But they know about drugs
which can kill nasty bugs,
plus, you cannot catch crabs from a boulder.
